Bioplastique
Arkema’s G850 biosourced polyamide is now being used to make frames for KOMONO’s Junior collection: this plastic, made from 100% natural castor oil seeds, uses 45% less fossil fuel than regular plastic.

Recycled Acetate
All the small scraps left from frame production are salvaged and dyed with natural pigments to form the perfect acetate for KOMONO’s optical collection. This process reuses leftovers and helps to reduce the waste incurred in the production process.

Eco-Acetate

KOMONO’s optical collection also makes the most of an entirely natural, hypoallergenic plant-based plastic. This organic acetate, which uses up to 61% less fossil fuel to produce, transforms renewable resources such as cotton and wool to create frames that decompose naturally over time.
