These days, glasses are a fashion accessory! For the perfect look, your glasses and make-up must coordinate! The following tips n’ tricks will help you create the perfect style for the office, cocktail hour or cottage that will let your glasses and natural beauty shine bright like a diamond. Get your hands on a Magnifying Mirror! Inexpensive and easy to find, this must-have tool will keep you from squinting through a magnifying glass to see what you are doing without your glasses on! Obviously, if any of you ladies wear contact lenses, you can always put them on while getting all dolled up. Just make sure you follow the directions and hygiene suggestions that go along with wearing contact lenses! Your glasses frame your face and bring focus to your features. This is why it is so important to pay close attention to your eyebrows and foundation. Well-groomed eyebrows will help your glasses look like they belong on your face. Thick brows are all the rage this season, but that doesn’t mean you should neglect them, your brows still need to be shaped. Don’t be shy to ask someone to help you find your right shade of foundation. Applying illuminator to the inner-corner of your eyes also helps draw attention to your gaze. Don’t forget Concealer! Remember, your glasses let you see the world in great detail but don’t forget that they will also magnify your eyes to onlookers! Choose a concealer that is a shade or two lighter than the rest of your skin to offset any shadows. Tip – the skin around your eyes is much thinner than the skin on the rest of your face. To apply concealer, avoid pulling at your skin. Delicately tap and/or massage the concealer until it is absorbed into your skin. Concave lenses that correct myopia (shortsightedness) make your eyes appear smaller. Here’s a trick to make your eyes appear larger; line your lower waterline with a white eyeliner and watch your eyes grow! Also great for concealing red eyes! On the other hand, lenses that treat presbyopia and hyperopia (farsightedness) make your eyes appear larger and magnify anything you may be trying to hide. Neutral eyeshadows are best, try to avoid brightly coloured or glittery shadows that will be magnified by the lenses and hide your eyes. When choosing shadow and eyeliner, choose colours that a compliment your frames. Sweep your brow bone with a lightly coloured shadow followed by a brighter colour over the lid. To make more of a statement, add dark liner to your lash line. When it comes to mascara, pick volumizing instead of lengthening. If you use lengthening mascara, you may run the risk of having your lashes rub the underside of your lenses. An eyelash curler can also help prevent this from happening whenever you bat your lashes! You should also avoid using mascara on your lower lashes when wearing glasses. It makes your eyes appear heavy and tired. You can put your glasses on to apply blush. The shape of your glasses and where they sit on your face will make it much easier to apply the blush in order to add a healthy glow to your cheeks. Brightly coloured and uniquely shaped frames are where it’s at. Why not pair your frames with a bold lipstick? Retro inspired pinks, corals and oranges are all the rage this season, do you dare! Lastly, don’t forget the golden rule, have fun and don’t be afraid to experiment! Bright colours, striking contrasts or a total style makeover … the possibilities are endless!
