While in the past many people had difficulty wearing contact lenses, significant progress has been made making contact lenses more accessible than ever. There are now various types of contact lenses available to suit the eyes and needs of everyone.
Visit your OptoPlus optometrists to find out which type of lens suits you best.
Soft
If you are seeking comfort and lenses that are easy to adapt to, then soft lenses are for you. Easy to put on and remove, they are to be replaced based on your selection.
Rigid
Rigid lenses are the diameter of your cornea and are designed specifically for those suffering from dry eye, corneal irritations or have a strong prescription. Durable and easy to care for, they can help decrease vision problems; as such they are often recommended for young children. They are also prescribed to help treat various corneal diseases.
Semi-Rigid
These lenses offer higher quality vision. However, the adjustment period is longer than with soft lenses.
To reap all the benefits of rigid lenses while improving oxygenation to the cornea, you may prefer semi-rigid lenses.
